Yes, the amendments to the Sabah & Sarawak Labour Ordinances are now officially in effect starting 1 May 2025, bringing them in line with the Employment Act 1955, which governs labour laws in Semenanjung Malaysia & WP Labuan.
I know many are curious (and kan cheong) about what had changed, like the reduction of weekly working hours to 45 and the extension of maternity leave to 98 days.
