A funeral today is not cheap. Well, not for us Chinese anyways. Insurance money payout is not as fast as we need it to be. So on top of the sadness of losing someone dear, the financial stress will also hit.
According to the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute, poor finances often lead to stress & anxiety that can further impact finances. It like a chicken & egg, rubbing salt to the wound situation.
I remember our first Covid death. He was a contractor. When we asked for donation, a lot of employees (most didn’t even know him) chipped in cash to help including the company.
Because really at times like this, besides words of kindness, the generosity of money does help. And it’s nice to see there are so much kindness around.
