In 7 Rules of Power by Jeffrey Pfeffer, he says we must spend enough time interacting with useful people.
And I 100% agree!
Many of us recognise the importance of networking, but we don’t actually spend time on it.
Until we need it.
Like…
When we take a long career break.
When we try to switch careers but the pay doesn’t match.
When we get older… because ageism is very real.
That’s why it’s important to continuously engage with our professsional network.
Through small catch-ups, checking in, and supporting each other without an agenda.
So when the day comes, we don’t feel awkward asking for help.
Think about it.
