Many people have asked me for my POV about SOCSO’s recent implementation of LINDUNG 24 JAM.
Honestly, I’ve been quite quiet about it because I genuinely didn’t have a strong opinion.
But while chatting privately with a some of you about LINDUNG 24 JAM, one of you asked me a very interesting question.
“Aunty, people say if we have personal insurance, then we cannot claim SOCSO, is it true?”
And you know what?
Even I had been hearing that rumour for many, many years, but I never actually took the time to verify it.
So I finally wrote to SOCSO, and this was their response:
“For your information, there is no issue with you making a claim for SOCSO benefits provided you meet the prescribed eligibility requirements, while at the same time making a claim under your personal insurance policy.

So, based on SOCSO’s clarification, having personal insurance does not automatically prevent us from claiming SOCSO benefits if we qualify.
Personally, I see LINDUNG 24 JAM as an additional layer of protection.
For those of us who already have personal accident insurance, it doesn’t necessarily replace what we already have. Instead, it sits alongside our existing coverage.
And if the additional contribution is relatively small compared to the potential financial protection available when something unexpected happens, I don’t really see the downside of having more coverage.
