Malaysia has a lot of public holidays.
And every time another long weekend appears on the calendar, I hear bosses saying:
“Wah. Another holiday. No work getting done again.”
But wouldn’t it be nice if more bosses looked at it differently?
Wouldn’t it be nice if we said:
“Good. My people can rest. They can spend time with their families without using their annual leave for every little occasion.”
After all, annual leave should be used for special moments too like weddings, graduations, birthdays, and anniversaries!
If we genuinely believe our employees are our greatest asset, shouldn’t we be happy when they get a chance to recharge?
Wouldn’t it be nice?
