Sometimes I think we Malaysians are so busy talking about everything that is wrong with Malaysia that we forget to appreciate what is right.
We should demand better!
Question our leaders!!
Push for change!!!
Yes, you can love your country and still criticise it.
You can be grateful and still want better.
Maybe that’s what being an active citizen means.
Just remember to recognise progress when we see it.
We cut absolute poverty from 49.3% of households in 1970 to 5.1% in 2024.
Adult literacy has risen from roughly 70% around 1980 to over 95% today.
We achieved a record of RM1.607 trillion in exports in 2025, with total trade exceeding RM3 trillion for the first time.
And of course, in 2018, Malaysia experienced its first change of federal government through the ballot box since independence, after 61 years under the same governing coalition or its predecessor.
I must say , not bad for your resume, Malaysia!
