I have nothing against job hopping.
I even know one hiring manager prefers candidates who job hop because she feels they are better exposed and bring a wider variety of experience.
And it’s true. One of the fastest ways to get better pay is to change jobs.
Job hopping can increase your salary, but eventually, you need to have something to show for all that hopping.
If every jump gives you 20% more salary, but your skills, responsibilities and achievements remain roughly the same… hmm… eventually, the numbers may stop making sense to the next employer.
So hop if you need to.
Just make sure with every hop, you’re also building your skills, solving bigger problems and taking on bigger responsibilities.
