Someone asked me: “I joined a new company in March, but my previous employer accidentally paid me my March AND April salaries. How?”
So I asked my followers on Instagram: Would you return the money?
1,494 people voted, and 74% said YES!
I went through the comments and the reasons were quite interesting.
Some said it’s about integrity. Some were worried about legal consequences. Others were concerned that the HR person responsible might lose their job – how considerate!
And of course, some said, “Keep lah! Consider it a bonus!” 💀
Now, here’s something I want you to think about.
If you’re returning the money because you’re afraid of getting caught, is that integrity or simply fear of consequences?
Because to me, honesty is the best policy.
What would you do?
Happy weekend, everybody!
Also remember, just because someone made a mistake doesn’t mean we’re entitled to benefit from it.
Think about it.
