When my PTPTN loan got paid out to me, like a lot of idiots, I used the money to buy things. New phone, new hair, new dress. I even gave my mother RM2,000 as pocket money. Then when the time to pay school fees came, I had to call my mother & asked for the RM2,000 back. Idiot, like I said.
I remember the phone call that night. It was one of the most embarrassing moment in my life. But she made it so easy for me, “Okay, I bank in the money back to you tomorrow morning.” And that was it. Didn’t ask why. Didn’t nag me. Didn’t utter a single word about it after.
I wish I could tell you that was the last time she gave money to me. But, no. Throughout my life, I am super lucky to have her to provide for me. Giving me all I need to be where I am today. And catching me every time I fall.
When I was 26, during one of our phone calls she told me this, “Doesn’t matter if you are 16 or 26, you are still my daughter. I will always worry. And will always take care of you.”
And she did and still is. A mother’s love, is eternal indeed.
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there. Wishing you to be blessed with abundance love and to love abundantly.
