I was Form 4. Kids being kids, we knew that day the chapter we were going to study was about sex. And I remember when the teacher walked in, especially the boys, we were all giggling and teased the teacher.
She walked into the classroom and told us to go read the chapter ourselves. If we have any question, only then we go ask her. And that was it.
At home, my parents are also quite the traditional ones when it comes to talk about the birds and the bees. So, growing up, I self learnt about sex. The hard way.
Last night during my Live session a viewer commented, “A lot of Malaysians actually find it a taboo to talk about sex.”
I responded, “A lot of Malaysians ah? A lot of Malaysians or a lot of hypocrites? Think about it.”
So really. Before us parents regret it, please do educate our young ones. Because fear is just temporary. Get over it, because education is very important indeed. Including good sex education.
