Another story I heard on Saturday.
She was in the media industry as a public figure. She was earning a steady 5-figure income every month, mostly from sponsorships & endorsement deals. Then, she decided to change her career path to join the corporate world because she was thinking, how long can I survive in the media industry?
Hours are long and more often than not, she had to be away from her family during holiday seasons.
It was initially tough for her. Without the relevant experience, she had to take a significant pay cut to start all over again from the beginning. She also had to learn new skills like MSExcel. She accepted the challenge & the pay cut because she wanted to learn new set of skills and gain new experiences to move toward a new horizon.
She was aiming for the long game and her efforts paid off. As she progressed in her career, now she is making more than double what she earned before.
More money, lesser hours, close to home. Like, woot!
