This morning during our leadership meeting, Haida said something that resonated with me so dearly, “Sometimes our people just want to hear the re-affirmation that they are doing the right thing. They want to be heard by the leaders regularly and yearn for our time. So, not matter how busy, we should make time for them.”
She then continued, “It’s back to basics, like how we used conduct our morning meetings.”
Aaaahhhh… I remember morning meetings. We gather everybody in the branch briefly every morning:
Mondays – Direction Day (where we set goals for the week)
Tuesdays – Market Intelligence Day
Wednesdays – FUN DAY! (obviously our favourite day)
Thursdays – Training Day
Fridays – Appreciation Day (where we count our blessings for the week)
And we end the morning meetings with a high energy huddle.
As she was saying all these, I realised, I am one of the lucky ones too. My bosses do spend time with me when I ask for their time, be it day or night (I do harass my boss late night, esp when I have a crazy idea hehe…).
To end today’s post, I want to wish everybody a safe weekend. Number of cases is expected to continue to rise, so more than ever, we ought to stay at home as much as we can. And spend quality time with our loved ones.
