Suzanne was a rising star too. She was also very, very good at her job. Some odd 2 years later after Michael’s promotion, Suzanne was promoted to be the same level as Michael. Now, Michael found out Suzanne received a very generous increment upon her promotion, much higher than his when he was promoted.
Though now peers, the relationship between Michael and Suzanne became sore. Since Michael’s discovery about Suzanne’s increment, often in team meetings, Michael would roll his eyes whenever Suzanne spoke. Then one day, Michael went out for drinks with Colin, who was a director in the company. In that meeting, Michael was criticizing about how Suzanne didn’t deserve the promotion and the increment she was given. Envy.
Colin escalated this issue to Michael’s boss, Jerry. Jerry then confronted Michael. Michael became more bitter. Last-last, Michael decided to leave the company and Suzanne continued to prosper.
