Aaahhhh… My favourite deadly sin to commit.
When I was young my mum told me this story. Two animals, Piggy & Buffalo were borned with the end goal to be eaten by Human.
Buffalo was the hardworking one, who served Human till the day he died, plowing the fields. While Piggy was the lazy one. Since she was going to die anyways, Piggy told herself might as well just enjoy life. Eat, sleep, eat, sleep and be fat. Sloth.
Then my mother said, “See, Piggy was so much smarter. Why need to work so hard when you knew you were going to die anyways.” My mother is not wrong.
Happy New Year 2023, everybody. Doesn’t matter whether we continuously look for meaning in our lives by choosing to be as lazy as Piggy to find a better balance or as hardworking as Buffalo to chase our dreams.
Either way, may we find peace and happiness all the same.
