Reading a resume shouldn’t feel like trying to solve a puzzle. But too often, I see resumes that leave me scratching my head, wondering what job this person is even suitable for. That’s not a good position for a hiring manager to be in.
Your resume should make it quick and easy to see what you’re good at and what role you’d shine in. If a hiring manager has to play detective to figure out where your skills lie, then your resume probably needs a makeover.
Clarity is key. A Jack-of-all-trades vibe is not good clarity.
Make it easy for them. Be clear about what you can do and where you can do it best. That’s how you stand out, if it makes sense.
