Yesterday, I was privileged to attend a briefing on HRD Corp’s groundbreaking initiative – The National Training Index (NTI). It is a measuring method to assess and describe the level of training and development activities among industries in Malaysia, like a pulse check.
But NTI doesn’t just scratch the surface. It delves deep, assessing the training heartbeat of employers, sub-sectors and our country’s five main economic pillars, led by manufacturing (for now). Crafting this pioneering framework involved meticulous benchmarking and brainstorming sessions with industry experts, academia, and the best from relevant agencies. It felt like being amidst a powerhouse of knowledge, all coming together to ensure NTI’s depth and applicability.
This innovation promises to be a game-changer in measuring training enthusiasm across sectors. I’m excited to see how it will further enhance our nation’s educational landscape.
