A friend told me yesterday she wants to stay with her company for at least five years to qualify for the 22 days of annual leave stipulated in the Employment Act. I corrected her that it’s actually sick leave that is 22 days. Annual leave is only 16 days.
“Huh? Why would you need so many sick days?” she responded.
That got me thinking. Would it be a better idea to switch the entitlements – minimum 8 days of sick leave and 14 days of annual leave instead?
I’m curious, what would you prefer?
