I took this pictures of the strays around my neighbourhood during lockdown.
My first thought was, “Not bad, still so fat the dogs.”
It somehow reminded me the time when our branch wanted to organize a charity, one of us suggested, why not we go to PAWS instead. One of my colleague from another branch found out and gave us some money to donate on behalf. In the money envelope she wrote, “Thank you for remembering the animals too.”
This pandemic I’ve read so many reports that the wild animals are coming out to play.
During the 1st MCO, I remember a friend who stays next to the main road texted me saying without the traffic noise, he could hear the birds chirping melodiously outside so clearly.
I’ve also heard a lot of warm stories how pets have helped people to live through this pandemic, being such lovely companions. I am also seeing a rise of cute animal videos in TikTok/Reels that brought me joy too just by watching them.
That is why when my staff come to tell me they have take emergency leave because of their pet, I totally get it. It’s totally a legit emergency to me. Who am I to judge their lives are not as important as other’s kids anyways. To many, pets ARE family.
So let’s be kind and be supportive. Remember the animals too.
