In sports, though the benched/reserved players rarely get to play the game live, they practice just as hard with other players. Because you will never know when the opportunity comes.
More importantly like how Les Brown, a motivational speaker, said, “It’s better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, then to have an opportunity and not be prepared.”
Because we also often hear we have ‘one shot at it’ so we must not screw up that shot. I find it the same in career progression. We need to constantly upskill ourselves to get ready for the next step.
Be. Do. Have.
For when the right opportunity come knocking, we want to be all ready in position.
Get set. Ready? Go!
