I do use a lot of this conditional statement in my day-to-day be it at work or at home.
When I was in college, I even wrote an entire “love assessment” program using mostly if-then scenarios. “IF you choose to like a man, THEN…. IF you choose to like a woman, THEN….”
Fast forward to today, I do work with a lot of MSExcel files and this IF-THEN function is something I use a lot in my spreadsheets to automate calculations. I previously also used it a lot to RAG my project’s status with Harvey Balls but nowadays with the new Conditional Formatting function in MSExcel, it’s much easier.
As for my every day life, you see, I am one that does not manage surprises well. I like to be prepared. Create Plan A. If Plan A fails, then Plan B. If Plan B fails, then it’s always a good idea to have a Plan B to our Plan B. And always ask what is the worst? For IF we are prepared for the worst, THEN we are prepared.
Example application – Lunch today. I planned to have panmee at this food stall in Wisma Cosway. IF that foodstall is too crowded, THEN I will go to have hokkein mee in the other foodstall. What is the worst? Worst is, some shit came up and I need to go fix it so I cannot go out for lunch. THEN, we shall Grab.
