You hear a lot about people saying “nobody is perfect”. And a lot of leadership books will also tell you that no leader is perfect either. Even leaders themselves know that. But when a leader makes a careless mistake, it’s not uncommon to see they are pretty hard on themselves more than others.
Don’t you feel that sometimes? With that kind of experience I have and the knowledge that I have, how can I make that stupid mistake??!?! I’ve told myself quite a few times already that.
But one thing I realised, when shit hits the ceiling fan, very important that we keep our emotion in check. Do not blow up like a ticking time bomb.
John C. Maxwell said, “Good leaders know when to display emotions and when to delay them.” This trick works super well with me – delaying emotions. For I am one that goes from calm to berserk very, very quickly. So I always remind myself to take a moment. Breathe.
Then only decide who and how I want to screw.
