Yesterday I was talking to a psychologist. She was telling me that she having her private practice nearby where she grew up was not a good idea because she was a “bad kid” because people in the area would know her past too well.
On the contrary, I thought it’s a good idea actually. My first thought was, because from a “bad kid” to the successful woman she is now in her career, a psychologist no less, there must be a motivating story behind. What a transition! Something to inspire all the “bad kids” out there today, don’t you think?
I mean, all of us would have our moments in our past. All of us would have done something bad or something foolish or something stupid that we regretted even.
Like for me, when I was much younger, I enjoyed lying because it gives me a kick when I successfully fooled someone with my lies. And in time, as expected those lies caught up to me and I got into so much trouble for lying. So I learnt from my mistakes and changed. Now? If you talk to me, even sometimes I find myself too honest hahahaha….
The journey and experience that we have gone through does define what we are today. Everything is changing including ourselves. Don’t fight it, embrace it.
What is your story this lovely Wednesday?
