This morning while waiting for people to log on to my Employment Relationship: Compilation of Court Cases as Case Studies session, I was entertaining the crowd about my early days in recruitment.
I was sharing with them how I sent resumes to clients 2 decades ago was via fax. And I remembered, the first time a client asked for softcopies of the candidates’ resumes to be emailed to them. We didn’t have an ADF scanner at our PJ branch. But our KL HQ had it. So, I had to fax the resumes to KL and our IT guy, Murali, emailed me back the scanned resumes for me to send to my clients.
Then I asked the crowd, “Errr… you younglings know what is fax anot?” Gosh, I am old indeed.
I do wonder, 2 decades from now, will someone be typing, “Back then, how I sent resume to clients was via email. And I remember, the first time a client asked me to <fill in the blanks>.” That would be an interesting one.
It somehow reminded me a T-Shirt I saw once that said “Problems Create Future.” I do believe that, you know. Technology is indeed fascinating. Looking forward to experience the next cool thing!
