It did feel different. It really hurt. A lot. I think it was not as bad as the first time but this one… This one was different.
From Branch Manager, I was downgraded to Manager again. They removed my fixed allowance. Moved me to a different office to take over a brand new team, who most of them, were misfits like me. Interesting…
Honestly, I was so angry that time, I was thinking, “What a cock-teaser.”
I accepted the demotion. Moved to KL office. Said hello to all my new misfits. And I worked my ass off. By the way, I was pregnant too. But nobody knew.
Every major key accounts assigned to me, me and my bunch of misfits grew the accounts. And not just marginal growth, some of them we doubled the numbers.
Eventually, I was reinstated to be Branch Manager again. Gave me back my allowance. Gave me an increment too. They even gave my bunch of misfits increment, actually.
From then, I told myself, the only way now to go is forth. We are not going back again. No more 3rd time. Not by second choice anyways.
Was it a humiliating experience? Yes. But did I choose to stay? Yes, I did. So take responsibility.
When you decided to do something, do it well. With or without, I am moving only forth.
