This morning, my Business Analyst asked me, “Ling, saya nak tanya…” in her most manja voice.
“Ya… Nak tanya apa, sweetheart?”
“Got news saying, maybe Raya is on Monday. Cause only 29 days it seemed…”
“Bukan kena tengok bulan dulu ke? Anyways, good also ma, puasa less 1 day hehehe…”
“Ya… But what if it’s Monday. So Wednesday kena kerja ke?”
“Oh.”
Well, this is the thing. Sunday is Labour Day, which is a Public Holiday. For most companies like mine, Sunday is a Rest Day.
So when a Public Holiday coincides with Rest Day, then the following day is a replacement of the Rest Day.
Now, Raya is a Public Holiday too. So, what if it starts on Monday, instead of Tuesday as predicted?
So now, Raya Holiday and the Replacement Rest Day are coinciding. Therefore again, the following day will be the replacement of the Replacement Rest Day.
Oh wait, it’s still a Public Holiday for most companies observe 2 days of Raya holidays. So again, it coinciding with the Replacement of the Replacement Rest Day.
Long story short, ingat that Wilayah Day and CNY drama earlier this year? Hah! Cerita sama.
So conclusion? Doesn’t matter bila anak bulan muncul. Wednesday maintains as a Public Holiday, okay?
