When Anney sent me this video, I fell in love with it instantly.
In this challenge, you can either choose to go solo one by one across the wall, or go two by two with one person supporting the other with the back(side).
We chose the latter method because for me it’s simple, more hands make light work. And when the work is light, we will get less tired so we can complete more rounds, faster.
Just like how we are at work, don’t you think?
The record to beat was 8 rounds, but Latha with the support of my back, she managed to complete the climb, right before the whistle blew, 9!
The video also somehow reminded me how important it is for we women to stick together because honestly, we can be so catty towards one another sometimes.
Anyways, coincidentally Latha is also my subordinate. When I saw how in the video, she was so focused on breaking the record to get across with me supporting her as she moved, it does remind me the journey of our careers working together for the past 5 years.
I still remember when I took over HR, everybody left me except her. She stayed. She even took the effort to come to tell me personally to reassure me that she will stay to support me & I told her, I shall do the same.
Honestly, it was not always a walk in the park, the two of us. We do have our struggles working together. But at the end of the day, we always remember to have each other’s back. Covering each other’s behind.
Because for me, it’s also simple. Together, we can achieve more.
