#AskLing: Time Slip vs. Medical Certificate

#Question: I would like to check whether this Time Slip can be considered as Medical Certificate for applying Sick Leave?

#Answer: No. A time slip only proves you went to see the doctor. But whether you are unfit for duty to apply for sick leave, the attending doctor will need to confirm it. That is when the medical certificate will come into play.

Time Slip is normally used as a supporting document for employees to apply for (emergency) leave to bring a family member to the clinic or hospital.

Anyways, then comes another question, if I go see a Sinseh/Tittar/Traditional Medicine Sifu and I was issued a medical certificate, can I apply sick leave for that?

Yes, provided the Sinseh/Tittar/Traditional Medicine Sifu is a registered medical practitioner (also provided your company is not particular it must be from a panel clinic).

Hope it helps.
