Hello. This is Hemant.
He was an ex-colleague. He coincidentally is based in Bangkok now and came to see me and May at the hotel for breakfast this morning.
I personally don’t know him well, but it was such a delightful conversation with him as he was telling us his journey in the past 8 years. How he left Malaysia to Myanmar and then ended up in Thailand now.
One thing I’ve learnt from his stories, is that he almost always made the first move in connecting with people. He never waited for opportunities to come to him.
Like how he spoke to a random stranger first at the airport and ended up working for the guy in a different country.
Like how he reached out to us knowing we are in town to reconnect again and we started to talk about business collaboration possibilities.
You know, just like how self-help guru Tony Robbins said it, “Expect change. Analyze the landscape. Take the opportunities. Stop being the chess piece become the player. It’s your move.”
