This whole social media & influencer marketing is really new to me. For the past 3 years I have been experimenting different types of contents on different social platforms. So like all things, when you are experimenting, there will be hits & misses.
Throughout my journey, I’ve made a lot of mistakes ie. the misses. But it’s okay. I keep reminding myself I must keep an open mind to listen to feedbacks for I’ve realised, though my intentions are well, not everybody will share my sense of humour. Just because I think it’s funny, doesn’t mean it’s the same for another person. And I want to respectful of that.
So I am learning to be better. To take a moment (to be less defensive). Pause. Listen. And learn. Learning by listening.
Anyways, yesterday Haida & I had the privilege to host a ‘Talk Show’ (for the first time) interviewing our senior leaders on our Open Day. As I was sitting there at the sofa, listening to my peers and my boss sharing about their personal experience on their career journey from a fresh grad to the successful directors they are today, I had such a wonderful time learning by listening.
It somehow reminded me of the Chinese Proverb saying, “To get through the hardest journey and continue living, we need to take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping.”
Even when the step requires me to pause to listen. So I can learn to move forth better. If it make sense.
