5-Star Hotels are not cheap. And yet people are willing to wait to give them the business.
Mercedes-Benz cars are not cheap either, but they too have a 6 months long waiting period.
Just like sometimes how we are willing wait for months to get a reservation at a fancy restaurant.
Why?
Because luxury brands have a reputation for high quality and exclusivity. People are often willing to wait AND pay a premium for the prestige and recognition in experiencing luxury. Oh how they play our minds, evoking strong emotions and a sense of satisfaction in us…
Now… that made me question us as talents. Are we a 5-star hotel? Will employers be willing to wait for our long notice period AND also pay us a premium remuneration package to join them? Well, we can be if we have the in-demand skills & competitive advantage, exuding a reputation of high quality just like the 5-star hotels, right?
