There was a period of time I was super-pissed with my boss. So, I did the most sensible thing – I decided it was time to find a new boss. This happened during the pandemic.
I still remember that evening. After typing “Logging off” in my MSTeams ‘Corporate Services Team’ window to clock off for the day, I went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water. After that, I returned to my laptop and began updating my resume.
I took an old resume of mine and starting editing it. I created a few versions, because, like I always advise, “You should tailor your applications to fit the role.” I sent out three versions of my resume to three different job openings I was interested in. Guess which ones responded?
Zilch.
So, I gave up looking for a job and continued to work as usual with my boss. Let’s continue to fix that sh*t. Business as usual.
