Heading to an in-person interview? Discover why showing up 15 minutes early is a clever move:
1. Get Comfortable & Familiar
Entering a new place can be a bit disorienting. Arriving a tad early allows us to adapt to the surroundings, from lighting to temperature. This familiarity, reduces stress and mentally prepares us for upcoming situation. We’ll walk into the interview feeling more ease and confident.
2. Insights & Impression Boost
Most reception areas display company achievements and values. Look out for accolades like “Top Innovator” or “Customer Excellence Award” and even company activity photos on the notice board. Incorporate these insights into our interview conversations for impressive brownie points.
3. Office Sneak Peak & Evaluation
While exploring the premises, don’t forget to check out the car park and office exterior. The type of cars employees drive can say a lot about the workplace. Also, a well-kept office often reflects a company’s attention to detail and employee comfort. Besides, we would not want to work in an office with leaky wet toilets wei!
Remember, the little things can give us big insights. Arriving ahead of time is our ticket to making a great first impression, even before the interview starts!
