1. Inside Sales: Work with within the company’s offices, often using phone and email to reach potential customers. They focus on selling products/services remotely.
Requirements: Effective communication and ability to stay persistent are essential because of the numerous phone calls and rejections.

2. Outside Sales: AKA Field Sales, the role involves traveling to meet with clients face-to-face.
Requirements: Face-to-face interactions with clients will require one to be outgoing and confident to build rapport and trust.

3. Retail Sales: Work in stores, assisting customers with their purchases, proving product information, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

4. Key Account Management: (My Personal Favourite) Responsible for nurturing and growing relationships with a company’s most important clients. They ensure high-level customer satisfaction and retention.
Requirements: To handle VIP clients, KAMs are required to be strategic and attentive to details to ensure client satisfaction.
Popular Industries: Virtually all industries, as long as you have anchor clients including IT, Government, Finance, Hospitality, FMCG, Manufacturing etc. dll.
5. Pre-Sales: Experts in a company’s products/services. They work closely with potential clients to understand their needs, provide product demos and address inquiries. Popular in technical industries.
Requirements: Possess in-depth knowledge of the company’s offerings, the ability to translate technical details into customer-friendly language. Master swift responsiveness to clients’ changing needs.
Popular Industries: Information Technology, Healthcare and Medical Technology, Manufacturing and Industrial Equipment
6. Relationship Sales: Focus on building and maintaining long-term client relationships by understanding the clients’ businesses deeply and providing tailored solutions. Often work with existing clients to identify opportunities for upselling/cross-selling.
Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a consultative approach. Need to be excellent listeners and problem-solvers, connecting with clients on a personal level and building trust over time.
