Well, since my post sharing sample unconventional resignation letters was quite popular, I thought, why not I share my actual resignation email to my bosses.
On my 45th birthday, I decided to resign. Yes, I chose that day on purpose because I had the corniest reason ever in my head – the greatest gift I can give myself is my own freedom. I even bought myself a bright yellow jacket with “Freedom” boldly printed on it to wear to the office that day.
I’m truly fortunate to have bosses who not only understood my decision but also supported it wholeheartedly. Their well wishes and blessings were also the best gifts they gave me.
I’m aware that not everyone has a smooth offboarding journey, and I am so grateful all went well. This journey has reminded me the importance of seizing opportunities, pursuing dreams, and cherishing the support of those around you.
So, here’s to new beginnings, to embracing changes, and to celebrating life’s milestones, no matter how unconventional they may be. 🥂
