Sexual Harassment Forms

Sexual harassment can happen in many ways. It’s never okay, and it’s good to know what it looks like so we can all help stop it. Here are the basics:

Verbal Harassment: This is when someone says things that are not nice or are sexual in nature. It can be mean jokes, comments, or asking too many personal questions.

Non-Verbal/Gestural Harassment: This happens when someone makes gestures or body movements that are sexual or make others uncomfortable. Examples include staring in a suggestive way, making certain hand gestures, or acting in a way that seems flirty too much.

Visual Harassment: This includes showing pictures or videos that are about sex or writing letters with sexual content. It can make people feel uncomfortable or upset.

Psychological Harassment: This is when someone keeps asking you out on dates or for a romantic relationship, even when you’ve said no. It can make you feel stressed or pressured.

Physical Harassment: This means any unwanted touching, like hugging, kissing, or patting. It can also be more serious, like hurting someone in a sexual way.

Remember, all these forms of harassment are serious and can make people feel unsafe or unhappy at work or other places.

Happy weekend, everybody. Let’s all be aware and work together to create a safe and comfortable space for everyone. If you see or experience harassment, speak up and reach out for help.

Respect matters.
