These were my people when I was an employee. They’re also part of the group of people I always carut about online (and they’re well aware of it).
One used to always cry then stopped. One said ‘thank you’ too much and continued to do so. One I recruited from Instagram and is about to get a bonus. One I almost fired but ended up becoming my 2nd-in-Command. Not in any particular order, so you’ll need to guess who is who!
It was such joy to see them at my debut comedy show at KL Comedy Club last night. They are very, very good people, and of course, it was super tough for me to leave them when I decided to resign.
But as I always remind everyone, you always take care of yourself first. Don’t forego a great opportunity because you love your colleagues. After 6, you can still stick together, and those are friendships you want. Though heartbroken, they will always bless you when you decide to leave.
Anyway, in my debut comedy show I did a post-mortem on my performance (old corporate habits die hard), and I could see there’s a lot of room for improvement. Like, a lot! It’s okay, we keep on practicing till we get that Netflix show, right? And I am doubling down that practice tonight with 2 shows 8.30pm and 11.00pm – how about that!
