Recently, a friend reached out for help with recruiting. Now, as a friend, he’s great. But as a boss? I need to verify. So yesterday, I visited his office to check out the environment and ‘interview’ him a bit.
He’s looking for salespeople to support his aggressive business expansion plans – so aggressive that he just purchased a 10,000 sq ft of land to build his new office. What I personally like about him, like many of us Gen X-ers, is his hands-on approach, just like “orang-orang lama”.
So, I asked him, “What if the salesperson has a big lead but isn’t confident enough to close the sale and asks for your help? Will he still get the full commission?” His response was, “Yes, most definitely. I can step in to close it and still reward the efforts made.” I know right, what a guy!
Anyway, here is the job advertisement:
ECI Group of Companies is a fast-growing business solutions provider which specialising in copier services, ERP systems, and document management systems. Most importantly, they are financial stable and have a boss with a big heart. In line with their expansion, they are currently looking for the following:
1. Sales Executive
- Location: Klang Valley, Melaka, Kuantan, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu
- Basic Salary RM2,500 – RM3,000 depending on qualifications and experience
- Other Remuneration: Fixed Allowances RM500 + Commission + Incentive Trip (last year they went to Tokyo!) + Performance Bonus
2. Accounts Executive – Full Set of Acccounts
- Location: PJS5 for now and moving to Old Klang Road soon =D
- Basic Salary RM2,500 – RM3,500 depending on qualifications and experience
- Other Remuneration: Performance Bonus
