⚠️ Nagging Post Alert 🧨 *
I’ve been typing this phrase a lot lately, especially in my DMs.
Look, we all have bad days at work.
But if every conversation turns into a complaint session, people will start to wonder…
Do you want a solution?
Or are you just collecting sympathy points?
As someone who’s been involved in hiring decisions for more than 20 years, let me tell you this:
We don’t mind hiring someone who’s made mistakes.
We’re happy to give second chances to someone who’s learning.
But… we stay far, far away from people who complain about everything.
Because chronic whining signals:
🤌 Lack of accountability
🤌 Emotional immaturity
🤌 Negativity that can infect a team faster than COVID
I was that whiner once, and I was unwanted.
It hurt, but it woke me up.
Losing friends taught me the hard way to show up better.
Growth over grumbling.
Now, giving feedback is good. Asking for help? Encouraged.
But… constantly dragging our past boss, past job, past company?
That’s not a red flag – it’s like a whole red banner wei! 🟥🟥🟥🟥
So… if you’re job hunting, make sure your story is grounded in growth, not grudges.
Be the kind of colleague you’d want to work with.
Because nobody wants to hire a whiner.
But everyone wants to work with a winner.
Majulah!!
Happy weekend, everybody! 😘 Tomorrow night I’ll be at PJ Live Arts supporting our local comedian Hindra Bose at his brand-new comedy special, Smell Like Curry. If ada jodoh, jom selfie!
