Yesterday, a follower asked me, “How long have you been in HR?”
Well, I’ve been in the workforce solutions industry for 20 years, but if you’re talking about internal HR-HR, it’s around 7 years.
She was surprised and said, “But you’re so knowledgeable when it comes to HR.”
Yes, I am. Because when you’re appointed to a senior position, people don’t care where you came from or what you’re made of.
You accepted the job, so they expect you to know the job. Period.
So, I studied.
I spent endless hours reading laws, cases, policies.
I asked questions.
I observed leaders I respected.
And I worked hard to live up to those expectations.
Because the last thing I wanted was to give ajaran sesat to anyone who trusted my guidance.
Yes, there were days I felt like an imposter.
But imposter syndrome fades when we back ourselves up with knowledge, humility, and action.
Besides, imposter syndrome doesn’t mean you’re a fraud.
It means you’re aware of the gap… and dedicated enough to close it.
Gitu.
