Ever wonder why bosses sometimes seem impatient when you’re speaking?
I caught myself thinking about it today.
Maybe it’s not that they don’t care. Maybe it’s time pressure.
Leaders juggle deadlines, meetings, and their own deliverables.
So sometimes, their mental bandwidth just runs out.
However I understand…
When leaders rush or dismiss someone, we risk shutting down great ideas and trust.
Why don’t this the next time you want to catch up with your boss:
👉 Lead with the headline: “Here’s the issue and what I need from you.”
👉 Choose the moment and say, “Can I get 5 minutes later today when you’re free” or if you need more time, schedule the meet with their PAs.
👉 Follow up in writing so nothing get lost.
Meanwhile for leaders, remember, patience builds trust faster than any policy.
Time is always tight for everyone.
But listening is your hidden advantage.
Like that.
