One of the most basic, yet powerful, tools in the your leadership starter kit is the sandwich method for giving feedback.

Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Start with something positive → set a supportive tone.
2️⃣ Deliver the “constructive feedback” → be clear and specific.
3️⃣ End with encouragement → show belief in their ability to improve.

Example:
“Your reports are always on time, and I really value that. One area to work on is checking the accuracy of the data before submission. I know your eye for detail is strong, and with a bit more focus here, your reports will be top-notch.” Gitu. (#TrueStory she improved and was promoted later)

Simple. Clear. Impactful.
And it softens resistance while still delivering the truth.
