POV: The Angriest Exit Interviews

Many people have asked me, “Aunty, can I be really honest in my exit interviews? Does it really matter?”

I don’t know about your company but to me, it does. It gives both parties a sense of closure.

For some, maybe there were things they always wanted to say but never had the courage to say until now.

For some, it’s just another HR process they need to complete before leaving.

For some, they genuinely hope the company can improve, so they give their final two cents before they go, hoping future employees will have a better experience.

I’ve seen all sorts of exit interviews.

But the angriest ones, in my experience, say nothing.

They fill up the form just to give HR face. Every answer is “no comment.”

The employee who rage-quits in ALL CAPS gets the attention, yes.

But the employee who type “ok” 14 times and nothing else… that is something worth looking into too.

Think about it.
