“Aunty, I’m feeling lost in my career. Any advice?”
That’s a good question.
One thing I’ve learned being part of the workforce for more than 20 years is that the skill that got me here today may not be the same skills that can take me forward.
Which is most probably why many of us feel stuck from time to time.
I remember when I first left corporate in 2023, I had to learn about content creation and social media.
Then video podcasting. Then how to run a micro business.
And honestly, it’s not easy becoming a beginner again and again.
But it also can be quite exciting!
Anyway… recently, I decided to learn something completely outside my comfort zone – again!
Building software!
Now, I am not a software developer.
But I was introduced to something called Emergent, a tool that helps non-technical people like me build software.
I tested it by describing an app idea in plain English and answering a few questions from the AI Agent.
It was actually quite impressive, as I witnessed the app come to life before my eyes.
So, if you’ve ever had an idea but thought “I don’t know how to do that,” maybe it’s worth exploring what tools like Emergent can do.
