“Everyone needs to be in the office full-time moving forward,” said the manager… from home.
Many employees have expressed frustration over recent return-to-office policies because the very leaders enforcing them are not following them themselves.
To be fair, I understand that some managers genuinely need flexibility because they’re travelling, meeting clients, or managing regional teams.
But perception matters.
Leadership has always been about setting the standard.
If employees are expected to make the commute because being physically present improves collaboration and culture, shouldn’t leaders be the first ones in the office?
Or do different rules apply because leadership responsibilities are different?
What do you think?
Managers should follow the same attendance policy or different roles justify different expectations?
Hmmm….
