I was asked, “Aunty, is it possible to start creating content without professional equipment or an editor?”
Of course!
That’s exactly how I started.
When I first started creating video content, I wasn’t even using the latest phone. It was an old OPPO phone, generations behind.
I didn’t even have a microphone or lighting (but now I do).
But do professional equipment and editors help? Of course they do. Better lighting, better cameras and better editing can make our content look much better.
However, people stay for substance and authenticity. And most importantly, we need consistency.
Most content creators, like myself, grow as we go.
Trial and error. Practice. Slowly figuring out what works and what doesn’t. And eventually when I had the funds, I upgraded my equipment.
After three years, I’m still editing my own videos, and I’m still getting better at communicating.
Practice makes better.
So if you want try being a content creator, don’t need to think so much – just start.
Start ugly. Start with what you have.
And remember to stay consistent.
