It’s not easy being manager. I am here for more than 10 years already.
You are expected to make difficult decisions for the team. You are expected to be firm yet compassionate at the same time.
You are expected to know what to do in different situations. You are expected to be responsible for stuff.
And the most stressful expectations to me is, I am expected to behave. Because I am supposed to “lead by example.”
But as stressful as it is, it was a choice I made and I knew all that is part of the job description. Because the truth is I love leading.
Sure of course the money comes with it. But what is more exhilarating is the job satisfaction that comes with it.
When I coach my team to win awards and projects. When I successfully resolve a crisis.
Best is when someone comes to tell me that I had influenced them to be behave better.
Yes, it is hard work, but it’s just like getting the vaccine, the positive just outweighs the negative so much.
Anyways, happy weekend everyone. For those we are based in KL, like me, got lucky to have it started early because our football team worked so hard too to win that Malaysia cup after 32 years.
