You see, there was this infamous case, Ambank Berhad vs. Rasidah Othman in year 2007. What happened was, Rasidah went to see the doctor, and managed to get MC. But madam, went to go jalan-jalan at Komtar shopping mall the same day.
Unluckily, two of her colleagues saw her and reported her. She defended that she was waiting for her husband apparently but in her hands, she was carrying a few shopping bags. Caught red-handed.
Now, this is called malingering i.e. pretending to be sick to escape work. It is a gross misconduct that can lead to a dismissal. Hence, she was fired. As simple as that.
So, moral of the story is, if want to malinger, duduk diam2 di rumah (and don’t post anything happening on IG too).
