Few days back I was asked about my opinion about this tutup kilang issue.
I said, people’s livelihood depends on jobs too. If you close kilangs, many will lose jobs ie income (already now ends hardly meet). Then how?
Though unprecedented, after 18 months, we have learnt so much about the disease too. We know now how it spreads so we do know how to prevent it from spreading.
Perhaps we need to tighten up the SOPs. And conduct more audit checks to enforce SOP compliance. Or maybe even have fulltime Covid Officers like OSHA officers to prevent accidents – like how constructions sites have a signboard that says we are 106 days accident free, we can do the same as “Achieved xxx days Covid free.”
It’s definitely not easy. We are living in hard times after all. However, there is a verse in the bible that says, “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
So we must continue to persevere till the end. To glorious days ahead.
