There was a time I skipped a semester in college because of financial challenges. So, I had a 4 months break and during that period, I worked at my mum’s company. She owned a shipping company back then.
She paid me monthly a RM400 allowance so for that, I considered that my first internship =D
If you are from the logistic industry, you would know that there are actually a lot of paper work to be filled. I remember back then, the computer monitor and the CPU besar gila. I used an electronic typewriter to fill up the shipping forms. That was when I first learnt to type on a qwerty keyboard with all fingers.
I also remember to avoid the paper jamming in the photocopy machine, my mum taught me to ‘knock’ the rim of A4 papers on the table or ripple the papers to separate them better. Do you do that? I still do!
These are the little-little things I learnt during my first internship which I still find super useful in my work today. Do you remember what you learnt when you were an intern?
