This is a story I heard on Saturday which I had found amazing.
This candidate had roadshow duty at Mahkota Parade in Melaka. After his scheduled duty was over, he drove 148km to KL to attend an interview a company at 7pm. After the interview is over, he drove the 148km back to Melaka to get ready for the roadshow the next day.
Tenacious, dedicated & committed. He was hired.
That reminded me a time I called a young candidate for a job. I called her at 10am and asked if she can come to meet the hiring manager in PJ at 3pm. She said can. Later I found out, she drove all the way from Ipoh. She was hired on the spot and was asked to start work the next day. So she did the same.
She drove all the way back to Ipoh the same day after the interview, packed her bags and started to work in PJ the following day.
When you want something, you need to put in the right effort to get them. There is no freaking free lunch.
